My Story
Who I Am
My name is Mariam. I am Sierra Leonean and Ivorian, and the richness of both cultures shapes how I understand color, texture, and atmosphere. I have always paid attention to how spaces make people feel. How a table set with intention changes the energy of a room. How the right glass changes the weight of a pour. How seasoning food until it feels comforting is one of the most honest expressions of love I know.
That sense of care and intention guides everything I create.
How LOMÉA Began
Long before LOMÉA, I was always the person rearranging, styling, and enhancing the spaces around me. My creative path became more tangible when I began working with my hands, designing resin home pieces made to be used daily. Coasters, trays, wine stoppers, wine caddies. Each one crafted by hand and made to live inside people's homes.
That experience showed me how much I love creating objects that are both functional and meaningful. Objects that earn their place. Objects that get reached for.
Hosting and cooking grew from that same place. I express connection through the table, through the glassware I choose, the lighting I adjust, the atmosphere I shape. Cooking is part of that language too. Food made with care tells people they belong at your table.
The World I’m Building
LOMÉA grew from my culture, my creativity, and my love for gathering. I wanted to create pieces that feel sculptural yet welcoming, modern yet warm, minimal yet expressive.
My work is shaped by Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast, by design across the African continent, and by the sensory elements that define a space: architecture, interiors, music, scent, texture, and memory.
LOMÉA is meant to grow into a world, not a moment. A design-led brand for people who care about how they gather and how they make others feel. My hope is that these pieces are reached for naturally, during celebrations, quiet evenings, and everyday acts of care, and that they feel personal, timeless, and full of story.
Thank you for being here.
With love,
Mariam Kamara
